Last December was a feast of events that marked a milestone in the history of freestyle snowboarding in Korea. At the FIS Snowboard World Cup held in China and the United States in succession, the Korean national team's Lee Chaeun and Choi Ga-on placed on podium standing with good results once again proving that the future of freestyle snowboarding in Korea is bright.

At the halfpipe finals of the 'FIS Snowboard World Cup' held in China earlier this month, Lee Chaeun set the stage by scoring the bronze medal and then took second place at the World Cup held in the United States, placing in the medals consecutive competitions. And Choi Ga-on once again showed her skills and presence by taking first place in the preliminaries in the halfpipe competition on the same day then taking first place in the finals, making this a historic moment as she became the first female athlete in Korean history to reach first place for win.
